Easy Supports to Learn in Dota 2

5 Best DotA 2 Heroes For Beginners

5 Best DotA 2 Heroes For Beginners (One For Each Role)

Lich - Hard Support (Position 5)

Lich is one of the best supports in the game. He is easy to learn, he has a lot of damage, decent supporting abilities, a nice lockdown, and an ultimate that deals a lot of damage.

By playing Lich you get to learn multiple concepts. Supporting in the lane, defending towers, helping your cores to find pickoffs in the middle game, and dealing a lot of damage as well as helping your allies in the late game.

How to play : Get wind lace, tangos, a salve, a clarity, and multiple mangos

Focus mainly on the enemy position 3 using your abilities and right click him as much as you can. Max Frost Blast and then max Frost Shield while you have a point skilled in Sinister Gaze

In the middle game, you want to play around your cores but you also want to defend towers! You can do that by using your Frost Shield to towers!

In the late game, you want to constantly use your spells without getting exposed! Items like Glimmer Cape, Forcestaff, and Aether lens should be your priority since you can use them not only to save your allies but yourself as well

Try to use as many spells as possible to deal as much damage as you can while you use Frost shield to your allies and sinister gaze to lockdown enemy heroes!

Nyx Assassin - Soft Support (Positio n 4)

nyx assassin

If you are a beginner Dota 2 player, you need to try out this hero. One of the most annoying heroes of the game, the nightmare of all supports, and an overall well-rounded hero that provides a combination of damage and control

How to play: Start with boots and tangos! Place a ward on the enemy small camp. Nyx has great health regen by default. That makes the hero quite strong, allowing him to regen fast after any kind of trade. With a set of tangos you should be more than fine. Feel free to buy 2 mangos on the laning stage to amplify your health regen and have some extra mana in case of need

What you want to do is trade with the enemy support constantly and find opportunities to kill him. You can throw a stun or two to make the trade even more favorable. When he is about 50% HP you want to give the call to your position 3 to assist you to your kill. Your skill build should be maxed Impale, maxed carapace, and then mana burn. You can get a value point on mana burn on level 4 or 8. On top of that find any opportunities to side pull (hit creeps at 1:48-1:50 and drag them to the lane) if the lane is pushed. . Once you get level 6, you instantly enter the middle game.

In the middle and the late game the plan is simple. Place deep wards and find solo pickoffs on support or pickoffs on cores with the assist of your team.

Axe - Off lane (Position 3)

One of the most powerful initiators of the game. Axe is one of these heroes that can solo win games.

How to play: From patch to patch the starting items are different depending on starting gold and the item's worth.

Quelling blade, a ring of protection, tangos, and a salve is ideal to start!

Skill Battle Hunger level 1 and use it on enemy support. This will allow our position 4 to trade really well with him. Level 2, 3 & 5 you skill Counter Helix while you get Berserker's call (and then you max it after 7) on level 4.

In the laning stage, you try to be aggressive if you play versus melee heroes while you play a little bit more defensive versus ranged hero. Once you have your vanguard (you rush ring of health into casual boots into vanguard) it's your time to play more aggressively.

In the middle game, you want to pick up a dagger and a blademail and be as active as you can. Ideally, you want to use blink call on the enemy supports and kill them fast or on the enemy carry to lock him down before he uses his abilities and finds that kill and seal with the fight. A piece of advice is to use smoke once you have your blink dagger to surprise enemies!

Late game itemization would be items like Shiva's Guard(or Assault Cuirass), Black King Bar, and Heart of Tarask.

Zeus - Mid Lane (Position 2)

One of the strongest damage dealers of the game. His decent laning and his global presence allow him to be one of the best middle lane heroes for beginners.

How to play him : You get some early stats items and you rush bottle. You max arcane lighting and try to last hit everything using both right clicks and spells. Arc lighting has low mana which allows you to deal with your opponent.

When you hit level 6, you need to look around the map instantly to find low-health heroes to kill with your ultimate!

Your item build is simple: Aether lens, into Aghanim's Scepter into Boots of travel. Refresher Orb and Octarine Core are both acceptable as 4th and 5th items.

By playing Zeus you will understand that he is not very mobile. If you feel like you are getting jumped a lot and die, items like Aeon Disk and Ghost scepter are perfect!

Lifestealer - Carry (Position 1)

Easy to play, strong in the lane, a beast in the middle game. How can you become a beast with Lifestealer though?

How to  play: Skill build wise it can differ from lane to lane. Level 1 Ghoul Frenzy is what makes the most sense with a level 2 on Feast. If you play versus spell damage heroes you should get Rage at 3 and leave it level 1.

Overall, maxing Ghoul Frenzy and Feast is what will allow the hero to farm the most. Lifestealer depends on lane creeps to farm since he is quite a slow jungle farmer.

That being said, items that will allow him to dominate the lane are always welcome. Phase boots and orb of corrosion are ideal.

Going into the middle game, Armlet into Sange and Yasha and Desolator are all great. You want to snowball the game, therefore small value items are ideal for the hero!

You need to use your rage and your ultimate wisely . If you are not careful, you might end up dying.

Lastly, make sure you choose your targets carefully. Lifestealer is great at killing supports while in-rage, since the amount of damage output is great. On top of that, his slow, extra movement speed and magic immune, all at once, make him a beast versus squishy, not mobile heroes.
